The 20D-STEG-B1 encoder is an Allen-Bradley Stegmann High-Resolution Hyperface Encoder used on the PowerFlex 700S AC drives and the 700L drives. The 20D-STEG-B1 encoder features a compact design for space-saving benefits. The hyperface encoder comes with internal communication allowing the users to integrate the 20D-STEG-B1 encoder easily. The Allen Bradley 700S drives come with connected component workbench for programming and configuration of different feedback options. This allows the drive to attain localized language support, an intuitive interface, and a startup wizard. The 20D-STEG-B1 encoder features an online and offline configuration allowing ease of use, while the drive attains context-sensitive help. For outstanding performance, Allen Bradley PowerFlex 700S drives feature multiple motor control algorithm. Through the multiple motor control, the unit is matched to the specific application needs.

The 20D-STEG-B1 encoder is designed to meet various standards and certifications, hence useable globally. The component features CE marking the UL, and EAC certifications. Therefore, it is designed to meet the applicable requirements. For best performance, the user should ensure the component is operated and stored within the recommended environmental conditions. The ambient operating temperature is 0 to 50 degrees Celsius, while the ambient storage temperature is -40 to 70 degrees Celsius. The 20D-STEG-B1 encoder should be stored and used within an environment that does not contain corrosive gasses or vapors. The shock resistance is rated as 15 G while the relative humidity range is 5 to 95%, non-condensing. The vibration rating is 0.152 millimeters at 1 G peak. The input frequency tolerance is 47 to 63 Hertz, while the displacement power factor is rated as 0.98 across the entire speed range.
